OMEGAPS AD HOC QUERIES
Description:
One of the major frustrations using an LSAR is that there are few outputs other than the standard reports; it is often not possible to view specific ranges of data to check for completeness and accuracy. The ability to quickly produce a bespoke spreadsheet can be beneficial to analysts, managers and customers.

Through a series of practical exercises this course demystifies the LSAR database. Delegates learn how to establish an Access interface to the LSAR tables using Oracle Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and how write Ad Hoc queries to produce tailorable data outputs.

To produce bespoke reports from OmegaPS.

Pre-Requisites:
OmegaPS course and an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Access.

The Course Content covers the following topics:

The relational database and Def Stan 00-60 LSAR tables;

Linking an Access database to the OmegaPS tables;

LSAR Table Keys and their relationships;

Building queries and establishing relationships;

electing Data Element Definitions (DEDs) for output;

Defining data selection criteria;

Formatting and outputting data.
