SUSTAINABILITY MODELLING
Sustainability Modelling is performed to determine the lower boundary of operational readiness for system configuration, utilisation and support. It considers the worst-case availability at a particular period in a mission profile and thereby provides a more relevant indication of capability compared to the steady state average.
Sustainability modelling is a fundamental part of an item's analysis carried out during its introduction into service and periodically throughout its service life to ensure that the equipment is supported in the most cost effective and operationally efficient manner. Some of the results of the modelling process include:
• Spares buy plans tailored to the needs of operating assets and procurement schedules
• Scheduled and unscheduled tasks, location, methods and resources to optimise maintenance
• Repair facility and manpower loading predictions for budget planning purposes
• Developing strategies for managing component obsolescence and determining technology refresh options
• Demonstrates reliability growth potential
