Ready For Some Good News?

Inside Quorum’s Gratitude Journal

Ready for some good news? We are…

And despite the political and economic dramas at home and abroad we’re determined to celebrate. October’s Mental Health Awareness Day reminded us of how important it is to take note of the good stuff.

So, here’s just a few entries in Quorum’s gratitude journal to hopefully inspire us all…

Celebrating Shaun and our ERS Silver Award

From the moment Shaun Simes joined Quorum, as the Business Development Manager, it was clear that he was going to take our commitment to supporting veterans and reservists to a new level.

Shaun noticed that while ex-servicemen and women were finding new and rewarding career paths with Quorum, they were also being caringly supported, throughout their journey, to find their best civilian feet. But we were only whispering about their success stories.

As a result of Shaun’s observations and drive,, we’ve now raised our voice and are sharing more about the support we offer to ex-military personnel. Plus, the added good news is that our work has been formally recognised.

Earlier this year, Ian Rees, our Commercial and Finance Director, received the Silver Award for the Armed Forces Covenant Employee Recognition Scheme (ERS) on behalf of the team.

Well done to the Quorum team and a huge ‘thank you’ to Shaun for driving this initiative through and being a superb ERS ambassador.

Celebrating our Employee Ownership Trust

A year ago in ‘How to get the ‘EX’ factor’ we said, “Every single one of our employees has a vested interest in creating the best place to work.” This was because our Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) had the potential to motivate and empower everyone to take an active part creating a positive working environment and Employee Experience (EX). But its success always depended on all the moving parts – our talented and committed people!

A year on and we’re happy to say that the EOT has exceeded expectations because of our team. It’s been an amazing catalyst for change – attracting even more talent (five new starters this year alone) and helping drive our achievements for clients. Something to celebrate, indeed!

Which is why, this summer, we marked our EOT success, by awarding Quorum stakeholder certificates to all our employees. Also, we became an active member of the Employee Ownership Association, with whom Glenn Symington, our Employee Representative Director, is now undergoing specialist training to help keep us moving forward.

Celebrating Jess and inspiring the next generation

We were delighted to welcome back Jess Bailey at the beginning of 2022.

With all the hallmarks of a lifelong learner, Jess makes reliable delivery of quality Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), alongside continuing her engineering studies, look far easier than we know it is. Plus, she’s a great team player too.

As if she wasn’t busy enough Jess has now risen to a further challenge. An engineering and mathematics enthusiast, Jess has now become an official STEM Ambassador.

Inspired by the STEM initiative as a young student, Jess is all fired up to encourage future generations to discover their potential through careers in science, technology, engineering and maths.

Join us in celebrating Jess and her story so far. It’s one that has attracted interest throughout Shropshire and beyond. And no doubt there will be lots more great chapters to come. Congratulations Jess – onwards and upwards!
