Book Donation to Aqueduct Primary School
As part of her support and commitment to the Women in Engineering Society (WES), Kate Edwards recently attended an event and connected with one of her fellow members from the University of Sheffield who has published a book called ‘Suzie & Ricky – The Crash Landing’. The book is aimed at inspiring children studying STEM subjects to become the next generation of Scientists or Engineers.
Kate has obtained some copies of the book which she has arranged to donate to a number of local schools. The first of these donations took place on 27th February 2019, during which Kate made a presentation to a school assembly and shared with the pupils her ‘own story’ relating to how and why she is following a career in engineering.
In addition to the book donations, Kate is now arranging Engineering Insight Days for a number of students and offering her support as a STEM Ambassador.
